from the movie "her":
Theodore : Dear Catherine, I've been sitting here thinking about all the things I wanted to apologize to you for. All the pain we caused each other. Everything I put on you. Everything I needed you to be or needed you to say. I'm sorry for that. I'll always love you 'cause we grew up together and you helped make me who I am. I just wanted you to know there will be a piece of you in me always, and I'm grateful for that. Whatever someone you become, and wherever you are in the world, I'm sending you love. You're my friend to the end. Love, Theodore.

Never has it been easier to find truthful information as ever before. People are not stupid. They have innate desire for the truth. They will seek for it. There will be some nutjobs that believe the earth is flat, but do they matter? There will be some violence occuring from time to time because of some crazy conspiracies spreading online. But, surely, that is the price we are willing to pay for access to the truth, right?

People are learning and understanding the technology more and more. A lot of us, even non-tech people, understand now that Facebook, Google, Tiktok, Reddit are incentivized economically to get our attention for as long as possible. We have become quite wary of that. The understanding that those companies have immense power to shape our reality has emerged as well. However, if something seems off, we always have the ability to hear the alternative view. Yeah, the price we pay is that Alex Jones can convince some people something stupid. But, surely, that is the price we are willing to pay for the ability to access a person's, whom we follow, content no matter what the Big Brother decides?

Deepfakes will not be a problem. We are not stupid. Elon Musk just said "Buy Dogecoin" in some video. Okay, that sounds a little bit of, let's go to his profile on Twitter. Oh shit, I should buy dogecoin! Anyway.

We must have open-source LLMs. If I want to hear the nastiest joke ever, why can't I do it? Like, seriously..?! What, am I fucking stupid and need to be babysitted? OpenAI and Big Tech will be able to shift reality through chatbots. To be in lots of control you do not need to be able to shift reality that much. You can shift it unnoticeably for it to have a profound effect. Therefore, complete transparency is paramount here for obvious reasons.

Autonomous weapons used in war? It is going to happen. No matter what. With open-source LLMs or without. We need to accept it and prepare for this inevitable war.

Misinformation? We are prepared for it.

Lots of grandmas will get scammed. Sorry.

We need open-source LLMs. We also need open-source code that trains them so many companies could try and beat Google and Microsoft. That is how progress happens.
